From Labor to Leadership – A 37-Year Legacy of Empowerment
For 37 years, John Hundzynski has been a driving force in labor leadership and healthcare advocacy, championing the rights of workers while shaping pathways for future generations. From his early days as a dedicated union member to his role as President of District 1199C Healthcare Union in Philadelphia, John’s leadership has been rooted in the belief that every worker deserves dignity, opportunity, and a voice.
His tireless advocacy has not only improved wages and working conditions for thousands of healthcare professionals but has also strengthened the very foundation of healthcare education and workforce development. As the Director of Industry and Partnerships for The Educational Empowerment Project, Inc., John is dedicated to bridging the gap between education and industry, ensuring that underprivileged youth have access to meaningful careers in healthcare.
Today, as a Board Member of the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO, John continues to fight for equitable access to education and workforce opportunities. His legacy is a testament to the power of leadership, proving that when we invest in workers and communities, we build a stronger, more resilient future for healthcare.
